Basketball Players

Basketball players are so revered in today's world of sports that it's sometimes hard to realize they are human beings just like you are. One thing that certainly stands out about today's basketball player is their salaries. Basket ball players, the good and great ones can make up to six figures - a stunning amount by anyone's standards.

NBA basketball players seem to have the largest salaries, but then look at the kind of game they are playing. There is certainly a good case to be made that a professional basketball player certainly deserves their salary for the skills they bring to the court. But it has to be mentioned that an NBA basketball player salary has certainly been the subject of a great deal of controversy over the years – especially since it seems to go up every year.

The salary of a basketball player is of course commensurate with their skills. And they sure would not be getting the big bucks if they couldn't handle the ball with finesse and deliver results. In general, salaries of professional basketball players are a favorite media topic (have been for years), and it doesn't look like that will end any time soon.

Becoming a professional basketball player is the goal of many a young lad or young lady as they are growing up. How exciting for them to be watching Michael Jordan, basketball player extraordinaire and thinking that they would like to be just like him. It could happen, that is the best thing about dreams. While they dream about how to become a basketball player, they can work on acquiring the necessary skills to be one when they grow up.

Who knows, one day they may actually become one of the top 100 high school basketball players. Of course before they get to the top, they would have to do some time as starting players on a basketball team. And, if they happen to be tall lanky dudes or dudettes, they might even win recognition as being the tallest basketball player on their team.

And by the way, even if you happen to have a medical problem, like autism, it will not hold you back if you want to play basketball. Just look at Jason McElwaine, an autistic basketball player who in one game scored 20 shots to win the game. Talk about being a hero. You can find his story on the Net at:

This story will bring a smile and a big cheer for his skills and determination.
