This speculation has been put to rest, as the new Iowa basketball coach, Todd Lickliter, was recently announced. However, it was speculated that the new coach would be Rick Majerus. Iowa basketball officials have squashed this rumour when they announced Lickliter.

Lickliter has appointed a few new coaches to the Iowa University basketball team. However, these are not the only changes that have been made. Now that the Iowa Hawkeyes have a new focus and a new coach, the team can now focus on getting their hands on that NCAA championship trophy. Restructuring a team can take time to adjust to, but practicing over the off season and basketball camp can make the adjustment that much easier. Lickliter has his plans, and will reveal them to his staff and players as they need to know. He and his team will work hard this season to reach his and the team's goals and expectations. In addition, if the team reaches those goals, the fans can be extra proud of them this season.
