Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls basketball team plays in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Chicago Bulls debuted in the NBA in the 1966-67 basketball season. Their first home games were played in the International Amphitheatre in Chicago, Illinois. They presently play their home games in the United Center in Chicago. They share this with the Chicago Blackhawkâs, a professional hockey team that plays in the National Hockey League (NHL).
A Chicago Bulls logo of a red bull head under the team's name represents the basketball team. Dick Klein wanted the Chicago bull to appear intimidating and created the logo with blood on the horn tips. Benny the Bull, the Chicago Bulls mascot, has entertained the team's crowds since 1969.
The Chicago Bull players wear jerseys with colors of red, white and black. Their current head coach is Scott Skiles, a former professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks. Jerry Reinsdorf owns the Chicago Bulls franchise. He also owns the Chicago White Sox, a major league baseball team.
The Chicago Bulls introduction, where the stadium lights are dimmed and players come onto the floor as they're announced, became so popular other teams soon followed suit. During the Chicago Bulls intro the arena fills with Chicago Bulls theme music. Sirius, from the Alan Parsons Project, was popularized by the Bulls and used as the Chicago Bulls theme song.
Famous basketball player, Michael Jordan, played a part in the Chicago Bulls history, as well as Scottie Pippen and other Bull players. Players on the 2006-07 roster include P. J. Brown of Louisiana Tech, Ben Wallace of Virginia Union, Adrian Griffin of Seton Hall, and Viktor Khryapa of Russia.
The Chicago Bulls Championships in the NBA presently total six. 1991 marked their first championship. To date, the Chicago Bulls won seven division titles and six conference titles.
