Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team (also known as Cleveland Cavs) plays in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Cleveland Cavaliers joined the NBA in 1970 as one of three expansion teams. The other two were the Portland Trail Blazers and the Buffalo Braves.

The current Cleveland Cavaliers logo sports a red and blue basketball behind the team's name. A gold and blue sword pierces through the "C" in Cavaliers. Secondary logo number one has the sword like a pole holding a red, white, black and gold flag with the letter "C". Secondary logo number two shows a gold and blue sword piercing through a gold and black outlined red "C". The team's current colors are red, white and gold.

The Cleveland Cavaliers cheerleaders, Cavalier Girls, perform cheers and professional dance routines for fans and players during home games. They hold yearly workshops and auditions for dancers who wish to become a Cleveland Cavaliers cheerleader. The cheerleading team also includes Junior Cleveland Cavaliers dancers for girls ages seven through eighteen and offer an Advanced clinic for girls thirteen through nineteen.

Players on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster for 2006-07 basketball season include all-time scoring leader LeBron James of Saint Vincent/Saint Mary HS, Eric Snow of Michigan State, Ira Newble of Miami (Ohio), Damon Jones of Houston with rookies, Shannon Brown of Michigan State and Daniel Gibson of Texas. Mike Brown of San Diego head coaches the team.
