Detroit Pistons
The Detroit pistons basketball team plays in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). They originally joined the NBA as the Fort Wayne Pistons. The franchise moved to Detroit in 1957 to compete against the bigger NBA basketball teams. The Detroit Pistons play their home games in The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.
The Detroit Pistons logo has the team name in blue and white displayed across a blue outlined red and white basketball. An earlier logo boldly presented a flaming horse behind the Pistons name.
The Detroit Pistons jersey colors are red, white and blue. William Davidson owns the Pistons franchise as well as the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Detroit Shock of the Woman's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
The 2006-07 Detroit Pistons bench look to play better then the previous year. Their 2006-07 season roster includes players Chauncey Billups of Colorado, Dale Davis of Clemson, Chris Webber of Michigan, Lindsey Hunter of Jackson State, and Ronald Dupree of Louisiana State. Their one rookie for this season is Will Blalock of Iowa State. Flip Saunders currently acts as head coach, a rule he played since 2005. Fans know him as one of the most successful coaches in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA is the oldest basketball association in the world).
The Pistons hold two National Basketball League Championship titles and three National Basketball Association Championship titles. They also won four division titles in the NBL, ten NBA division titles and five conference titles. The last division title was in 2007.
The Detroit Pistons Automotion Dance team for 2006-07 season include seventeen talented professional women dancers. The Automotion dancers perform cheers and dances routines for fans and players at home games.
