Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic basketball team, also known as the Magic, joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the 1989-90 season. The Orlando Magic team plays in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the NBA. The team first played their home games in the Amway Arena, also known as Orlando Arena. In 2000, the Orlando Magic team moved to the TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando, Florida.

The NBA Orlando Magic team is owned by Rich DeVois. The Orlando Magic team's Head Coach is Brian Hill.

The original Orlando Magic logo displayed "Magic" in blue with a silver star in place of the "A". Above that sat "Orlando" with the "A" another silver star. A blue and silver basketball trailed off to the side followed by silver shooting starts. The team use a different logo created in 2000. This logo shows a blue and silver ball streaking with stars underneath the Orlando Magic name. A star takes the place of both "A's" in "Orlando Magic".

The Orlando Magic basketball jerseys saw a few changes over the years. Though the designs changed, the each player wears an Orlando Magic jersey with the colors of blue, silver, and white.

A selection of professional dancers, gymnasts and entertainers form the Orlando Magic Dancers. They perform for world events as well as team games. In January 2007, soldiers received more than 2,800 Orlando Magic tickets donated by companies and individuals – matched by the Orlando Magic team - in the town as part of Seats for Soldiers night. Soldiers watched the game between Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks.

In 1995 the Orlando Magic basketball team won a division and a conference title. In 1996 they won another division title. The Magic returned to the playoffs in the 2006-07 season for the first time since 2003.

Shaquille (the Shaq) O'Neal played for Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers. Shaq currently plays for the Miami Heat. The 2007 Magic roster lists players Trevor Ariza of UCLA, Carlos Arroyo of Florida International, James Augustine of Illonois, and Keith Bogans of Kentucky among other amazing athletes.
