The Dallas Mavericks team logo displays a silver and white horse head next to a blue and black basketball. The letter "M" hides on the horse's forehead. The horse's mane circles under the ball and connects to "Dallas" at the top to create a circle. A silver shield surrounds this with the "Mavericks" name in a blue banner beneath. A white star at the shield's bottom point finishes the design. A former logo design displayed an "M" wearing a cowboy hat before a basketball. Eventually, Mark Cuban decided to do away with the cowboy hat and give the logo a modern overhaul.
